Missional Movement Through the Local Church: Applying Movemental Principles in a British Context
by Rev Dr Nick Allan
About/Contact
Revd. Dr. Nick Allan is a church planter practitioner; Baptist Senior Minister of The Well Sheffield, UK; and the Director of the St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry.
Nick has over 20 years experience in church leadership in a variety of fruitful, growing settings including trebling the size of a suburban house church, leading the urban campus of a large Anglican-Baptist multi-site with extensive mercy/social ministries and planting a new city-centre church which has since multiplied through further church plants. Over the years he has overseen multiple church plants in a range of models and ecclesiologies from missional communities, to innovative fresh expressions and traditional building/congregational based models.
He is experienced in raising and coaching missional leaders, and has a specialism in the young adult generations, including publishing an award-winning book about discipling those generations. Nick’s research interest is in missional movements plus growing and multiplying healthy churches (macro and micro). He is the Myriad hub-leader for the Sheffield city region.
Nick’s first degree is in History (Sheffield) which remains one of his passions. He gained a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM) during his business career. His Masters in Theology & Ministry (2012, Sheffield) accompanied his Baptist ordination training. In 2024 Nick was awarded his Doctorate (DMin, Asbury Seminary, Kentucky) in Church Planting in Post-Christendom Europe.
